Kilowatt-Hours (kWh)
The measure of consumption kWh/100 miles isn’t comparable to other makes. Tesla, for example, uses Wh/Mile (easily converted) whereas others like Kia and Nissan use miles/kWh. It doesn’t matter in which metric you use, the Jag is pretty Electron Hungry. When I ran a Tesla Model S (early model) for a few months, I achieved a consistent 321Wh/mile. The jag has averaged 425Wh/mile. That gives me a theoretical range of 197 Miles. Even the ev-database figure for the real world is 375 Wh/mi and 225 range. Some of this will be the large proportion of miles we do on the motorway but also the fact the HSE has 22” wheels which are the worst of those available for the I-Pace. I don’t get hung up on this. It’s more important that it is consistent for range estimation. I very rarely use the ECO mode. I don’t like the way it dulls the throttle and the range is very consistent in Standard mode.
TIP: Knowing what kWh/100 miles equates to what range will make range estimates easier than relying on the GOM or even worse, the navigation
