Going Nowhere Fast (Staying in is the new going out. COVID-19)

It's the 1st of May and I've done my monthly statistics. Due to the lockdown that is currently going on, I am working from home 100% and my only trips out in the car have been for essential shopping.

I've now driven more 13,000 miles in the car since we got it in September and up until the middle of March, the monthly mileage was fairly consistent.

In April though, the total miles driven has been just 42 miles.

The total energy used was only 17.91 kWh which is an average of 0.424 kWh/Mile.

The car has been plugged in and kept at 100% charge and the charge point has recorded 27.95 kWh which means that maintaining the charge level (and losses though charging) was 10 kWh. Even with this additional energy, the running costs have only been 3.3 pence per mile.

Apart from that, the car just sits quietly awaiting its next use.

I'm not in a rush. I'd much rather be safe than be driving.

Stay safe.
